What a Fubarred Week

Rants, School

Ah, it’s been a while since I made a rant about my life. But bear with me, it’ll be brief.

Our tennis team took Tuesday off to take a mini-road trip to Gallup to play their tennis team in a district match (both boys and girls). Us boys totally raped them by winning all nine matches, leaving them with zero to brag about. The girls were less fortunate… taking away only two games while their foes retained seven.

Little did I know that would be the last time I would ever play tennis with the team.

Long story short, I did not get to play in the crucial match against Cibola (neither did my buddy Ken). So we got pretty pissed. So I was like “oh well there’s always district and state tournament in a few weeks.”

Nope.

Apparently, Mr. Coach isn’t letting me play in the district tournament either, instead letting the more “worthy” people play the three singles and two doubles which a team can play in the tournament. It’s my senior (and therefore last week) of high school and I’m sitting here unable to play anymore tennis, because I don’t matter to the team anymore. Basically, I’m not playing anymore tennis — I’m useless now. And it’s all happening on my last year.

What a fucked up week this is.

People like the coach have no idea how hard it is to realize all those hours put into tennis, all those sweats dropped, all those bruises made, all those bones broken, and all that blood shed just to find out in the end that it doesn’t matter anyway. It’s very painful to see it all wasted. What good is tennis if you can’t even play it to begin with?

So I end my rant with a big middle finger stuck up to the coach. The only thing I can do now (and probably only capable of doing) is to support my team and watch them quarrel with their opponents in an attempt to win the final matches of this year’s tennis season.
