Finally, finally, finally, finally, FINALLY! I just ordered some parts for a new PC off of Newegg. And it’s about time too, I’ve been using my battle-hardened P4 machine for well over seven or eight years now. It is but a shadow of its former self, but it remains as a legacy in my history of computing.
I’ll be getting this just in time for college. Hopefully, my new semi-ownage PC will last me for a long while throughout college and beyond. I’ll be using it for school work, 3D rendering, and other intensive computer applications, and of course (and not to forget), gaming.
It’s not a godly PC as I would like it to be, but I would rather save myself from having holes in my wallet if possible. Here’s what I put together:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz
- Memory: 2×1GB DDR2 800 (from G.Skill)
- Graphics Card: Radeon HD 2900XT 512MB
- Storage: 2×250GB Western Digital Caviar HDD’s (may possibly RAID these two)
- Power Supply: OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU
- Monitor: Sceptre 20.1″ LCD widescreen monitor
All on top of a Gigabyte GA-P35 board enclosed in a sick-ass Enermax Chakra case.
I can’t wait for these parts to come in so I can start putting it all together on the weekend. I’ll have cheap pictures by then. ![]()
