From now, it is just a bit over a week away before I return to NMT sophomore status (second year university for you foreign folks). I’ve pretty much wasted my summer here at home, doing absolutely nothing, but for the few one or two things I managed to do, watching anime was, much to my surprise, one of them.
I took a little hiatus from enjoying anime during the later half of last semester, but I managed to get just enough lethargy off to start watching some new things again. The last things I watched on one full sitting were Gurren Lagann and True Tears. Gurren Lagann, we know, is epic. True Tears is… something else. But I finished it, at least!
Now comes the stuff finished for summer:
- Code Geass — Finished the first season. Pretty ridiculous stuff, complete with a crapload of characters, some of whom I wish to die, obviously.
- Vampire Knight — That’s right, I watched the first season of something that was made for girls, and I lived. It’s actually not bad, it’s just that there’s so many guys, but I think I saw this one coming.
- xxxHOLiC Kei — Ah yes, HOLiC. I absolutely freaking love HOLiC. And I absolutely freaking love a second season. It’s too bad it was only thirteen episodes long.
Stuff watching:
- Soul Eater — Take a Bleach-esque idea, mix it in with some wild, colorful vectoring, dab it with badass characters who take the form of weapons, and an annoying-ass kid who says “ore-sama!” every other freaking second, and you get the idea. This series is pretty fun/ny, and has a fair share of action, fanservice, and annoyance to almost make me go back to watching Bleach — on second thought, nevermind.
- Code Geass R2 — Just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore ridiculous, it gets even more ridiculous. And with more ridiculous-ness comes more people I just want to die. Oh, and plot twists seem to be a favorite of the directors, thanks to that fandangled Geass thing.
Perhaps I’ll watch more as the new semester starts. There are a lot of things I want to do right now… besides blind my eyes out of my brains watching anime.
