Tablet Acquired!

Geeky Things

After many long hours of waiting and panicking over a lost shipment, I have finally obtained a tablet PC for my schooling needs!

Okay, that was a lie. “Schooling needs” is only part of it, it’s more supposed to be a replacement laptop for my white Sony Vaio that got ninja-ganked by my brother back at home for a while. I, being laptop-less for some time, decided to use my just-acquired scholarship money to purchase an ASUS R1E:

ASUS R1E

… somethin’ like that.

Seems like my money flew out the wallet as quickly as it flew in.

Anyway, so far, it’s looking good. But I just got this last week, so I just might have to eat those words in a few months. I sure as hell hope not, but we’ll see (I’m putting my money on “I sure as hell hope not”).

As for school, well, I think I’m holding pretty fine right now in my second semester. I get a large sum of homework each day, but I seem to be able to hold my own on getting them done every night without getting too stressed out. It’s definitely not as bad as last semester, but not all that better either.

Before I close out my post for the day, I would just like to say that the Macbook Air is a worthless pile of shit. Good job, Apple, on over-applying your flawed design theory of sacrificing function for form on a laptop. Now all you have to do is touch it and it breaks. It also defeats its own purpose of extreme mobility by forcing people who want CD/DVD drive functionality to use an external solution. As well, the RAM is soldered into the motherboard… what the hell?

Good job, Steve Jobs, you’ve proven to yourself (and your company) an idiot once more. Have a nice day.
