A Tentatively Good Test Bomb

New Mexico Tech

(insert all the possible noun-prefixed curse words you can right here)-socks!

I failed the math test again. That’s right, we didn’t get our tests back until sometime this week… much thanks due to our professor’s slow-and-steady way of doing things.

Actually, I didn’t technically fail; I got a 76 this time — a good 2 point gain from the last test. I suppose you could say that’s an improvement from the last test, but that’s not what I’m here to elaborate on.

According to the professor, she said she was quite disappointed in the performance of the tests, blurting just plain bluntly, that “we sucked” on these tests. And man, what better way to put it — we really did suck. The average was a 54 in a class of about 25 people; good to know I was above average, eh?

So the professor, being the sort-of-generous person she was, resorted to the last-resort academic weapon of mass destruction, in an effort to save lives: curve the grade. So right below my 76 were the words, fancifully hand-written, VERY GOOD. My friend James, got a 75 or so and was apparently a few points off from getting the “very” in “very good,” as he only got the straight-up “good.”

I win, James.

So to sum it all up, I think I can say about this much about my lack of skills in calculus:

I PHAIL!
