MasteringPhysics is Gay

Rants

This is the truth.

I won’t go into detail about it, after all… unprofessionally drafted rants really aren’t a joy to read. I think, however, I can sum my thoughts up like this: Internet connection required, access fee required ($50), small 8pt font, non-AJAX interface, hard-to-understand wording, no feedback/guidance on wrong answers, and overly-strict and picky grading algorithm = gay, stupid, retarded, worst piece of programming ever, pathetic, unhelpful, and poorly-done, respectively. If you used MasteringPhysics, you know what I mean.

You should never, ever, ever do math or science work on an electronic interface such as a computer. Never.

This ends my rant for the day.

I hate you, MasteringPhysics. Go die.

It does suck. I looked at the part about circular motion (which is what I am currently doing in Physics) and the simulation on it is incorrect. Apparently planets are now able to travel through the Sun…

I like ChemSkillBuilder. Bummer that you didn’t have the same luck. Oh and by the way, I dislike it greatly when wireless keyboards lose connection due to the usb connection being a power hog/poopy.

I demand a new post!

That’s why you don’t go wireless in the first place.

And I really hate the fact that MasteringPhysics doesn’t give a shit about the actual work involved in getting the answer. They only care about the answer itself — either you get that right, or you lose most, if not, all points.

I hate that with a great passion: it’s the antithesis of everything we’ve been taught as far as “showing your work” goes.
