Ha, I renewed rainender.com just in time: on the day it expires! Thanks to godaddy’s smart thinking of hitting the renewal button before hitting the register-to-another-party button, the domain is mine for another year.
And rightfully so too, I worked hard to get the name to where it is today (okay, so maybe not that hard). It’s mine and mine alone; it’s my… precious.
It seems like common online business practice to wait for a frequently-visited domain to expire, then immediately steal it before the original owner knows who picked their e-pockets. Heh, that won’t work on me. They won’t take this name and resell it for a ridiculously high price to other people… at least not for another year.
