I did it, I finally modded my metal pad with raised panels. At first, it was so recessed it was rather difficult to play flat-footed, especially on high speed songs. The recession is actually deeper than that of the arcades. Not sure if this is a good thing, but I imagine a half-inch recession compared to an eigth-inch recession in the arcade would make a big difference. After all, nobody likes sponges, or deep valleys for that matter. So I went and modded it up.
Mine looks rather ghetto now it ain’t as deep, but it should be just a bit less than the arcade, if not, no recession at all. Now people who use this pad will no longer trip on the once-overly-raised parts of the pad and suffer terrible injuries from a mere impact controller (and not punish me and take me into court). Today is a happy day, for I have prevented any future causes of trip accidents while playing DDR/ITG. I feel like a savior.
I’d take a picture of the modification and all, but that’d be too extreme and would be clear signs that I am whoring my pad and am addicted to it. This is something I do not want to do, for this metal pad is for dancing and nothing more.
