Posting from sister’s computer, two doors down.
This is retarded. For those of you who are still waiting patiently (or impatiently):
We are still DOWN.
To sum it up, after waiting a few days for a new motherboard to come, it finally came sometime on Monday, few days back. We, thinking that this new motherboard will solve all our problems, tried to put it to fast use, but we lacked a few vital things that Dell had failed to provide us when we first got the computer: A backplate and a heatsink.
Actually, the heatsink that I’ve been using on the old (piece of crap) motherboard is an old, but sick one, the only problem is that it’s not a standard Socket 478 heatsink. So I could not transfer it to the new motherboard. The bastage wouldn’t fit. This ticked me off and got me going “aRRrrArgghHHghHH” and stuff like that. The only thing between me and a better working computer now is a new heatsink. It’s just one problem after another. From this point on, it has been 3 and a half weeks since I last was able to hop on the computer.
Few days later, after some ranting at school about how dumb all of this is and the fact that I have to go through all these hardships just to swap out a computer case, I ordered a new heatsink from Newegg two days ago. I’m getting this one. This heatsink pwns!
Now for the dumb part. Take it from a guy who does one too many online orders — don’t order stuff midweek! Newegg ships by default with UPS’ 3-day guaranteed method. I, who was expecting it to come on Saturday after having placed the order on Wednesday, was sadly distraught by the fact that it would instead come on Tuesday of the following week. What in the freaking hell? 3-day guaranteed method is, in truth, a 6-day God-knows-if-it’s-guaranteed method. Do yourself a favor, make 3-day guaranteed actually look like 3 days by ordering on the weekend, so the package starts to ship on Sunday/Monday, and comes on the 3rd day from when it was shipped.
All in all, I have gone almost about 4 weeks without my computer now. Now, I don’t mind this, and I can last without it for a pretty long time, but I despise the fact that I have to go through all of these hardships, problems, and frustrations all for the mediocre task of moving my computer into a newer, better case from a wussy, piece-of-crap Dell one. All I wanted was a new case, damn it. I blame this one halfly on Dell, who failed, from up to April 2002, to provide standard ATX motherboards and power supplies in their products. If they didn’t do such freaking dumb things, I would’ve been able to return many, many weeks before. This is freaking dumb — all of it, this is all freaking dumb and stupid. I am getting annoyed by the BSness of this situation.

Heh, and I thought I had it rough when my only mouse died (had to rough it with the keyboard for a good week).
Good luck with that heat sync. ):
